I cannot wait to see this. Now before you get a fright, The Artist is actually a silent movie. So don’t go in, start watching and then ask for your cash back like these people did. I’ll just shake my head quietly; trust the Liverpudlians.
The Artist is being touted as a love-letter to silent cinema and the music sounds incredible. I’ve fallen head over heels for cinematic orchestra recently, so it’s right up my alley. Through music and visuals, the film quietly weaves the story of a silent actor whose career is destroyed by the arrival of ”the Talkies.”
It’s already picked up 3 Globes and it’s got MAJOR hype ahead of the Oscars. I love the concept, it’s so new… but at the same time it’s so old. If you know what I mean. Have we just discovered Hipster cinema?
Ladies and Gents, The Artist is how our grandparents used to watch it.
I am falling hopelessly in love with this music.
It’s one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever heard; the sound kisses your ears.
It makes me want to go off and paint the world.
And I can’t even paint.
Forget Gaga and dubstep and house and electro; it’s all noise.
This is music.
Now we all know I’m always the last person to find anything out, but I’ve just discovered something beautiful.
The Cinematic Orchestra.
So.
Stop what you’re doing.
Hit Play.
And just sit for a quiet moment. Sit and do nothing except listen and lose yourself for just a little bit.
The world can wait for a few minutes.
