Florence + the Machine released their new single ‘Breath of Life’ for Snow White and the Huntsman. They released this ages ago, I am just stone last to find out, as per usual.
Florence is cleaning up in soundtrack land: Game of Thrones and Snow White.
Nice work.
I’ve been going on about this Lana girl here and here. But do yourself a favour and listen to this. Then check out Video Games, Summertime Sadness and Radio. And then buy her CD: Born to Die.
Miss del Rey rocks to the point where I, Robyn MJ Hobson look forward to sitting in rush hour traffic just so that I can listen to her.
If you know me, you’ll know that my traffic tolerance is very low ( I mean whose isn’t?).
Please take a moment to appreciate that Lana is making me ENJOY traffic.
You have been informed.
Now go off and do something about it.
So everyone is flipping sticks for Bon Iver, but frankly this beautiful cover of Skinny Love by Birdy blows them out of the water.
Thanks to @SucktheMarrow for the share.
My Mum introduced me to this gem from Lana Del Ray. It’s beautiful. Her voice is incredibly haunting. On further investigation, I discovered more of her music and I really like it. It’s soft on the ears. Plus Lana is stunning; a tribute to the 60′s. [Think The Graduate].
I bought the CD (I know, who does this legal stuff anymore?!!). Listen to Radio. I want to fall in love with that song. I’d share it, but there are NO decent versions online.
If you like being legal and you’re picking up what Lana is putting down, then you can get it here.
So this has been getting a bit of play on 5FM and I really dig it. I mean, obvsiouly I dig it. Otherwise I wouldn’t be posting it here. I had no idea it was local.
It took me forever to find it, as I only knew about 3 words – thank you @StephanieB !
Her name is Chianosky, she’s stunning, she rocks AND she’s South African. AND I wasn’t the last to know about her. Can I get a Woohoo up in here?
Now we all know I’m always the last person to find anything out, but I’ve just discovered something beautiful.
The Cinematic Orchestra.
So.
Stop what you’re doing.
Hit Play.
And just sit for a quiet moment. Sit and do nothing except listen and lose yourself for just a little bit.
The world can wait for a few minutes.
They said they would rock us in 1977 and 30 years later they’re still keeping that promise.
And despite the dentures, grey hair and zimmerframe, I’ll STILL be rocking along to this in 50 years. I mean someone will have to help the grandkids appreciate good music. God knows what they’ll be listening to by then!
You picking up what Granny Hobs is putting down?
Here’s the official music video for Euphonik’s domination.
You know what? More songs need Madiba quotes. He had (and still has) some pretty good ideas.
“Press Freedom will never be a threat “as long as the ANC is the majority party.” – Mandela
“A bad free press is preferable to a technically good, subservient one.” Nelson Mandela
