This arrived in my life!
I was so happy that I forgot I have a fan assisted oven ( you can’t turn the fan off) which doesnt lend itself to baking.
I was a bit heart broken when I realised. But screw it, I’m just going to bake cupcakes that don’t rise evenly.
Killed time at AndUnion whilst Cape Town ground to a standstill thanks to some spiritual enlightenment happening at the Stadium.
These guys made our week.
One and a half hotdogs ( my record is 2 and a bite) and 1 and a half cupcakes later- I went home.
Tried out Clarkes.
This place is no longer Hipster. I have eaten there, ergo it is now officially mainstream.
Wanted to love the food, but didn’t. This is either a) because I didn’t order a burger or b) because I ate myself sick at AndUnion.
Love the plants though!
Stopped in at the Slow Market in Stellenbosch for Lynne’s Birthday.
We turned her into a Canary with a very yellow fascinator and an even yellower feather boa.
By the way, these waffles are life changing.
They are 40 bucks, but indecently good. Walk into the food hall and turn right.
We headed out to Kanonkop. How’s that view?
Couldn’t understand why we were getting strange looks, then remembered Lynne looked like a lost, Las Vegas showgirl.
Dave and Fea patiently indulged me as I jumped out the car every two minutes to TAKE A PICTURE!
Discovered that Kanonkop has an art gallery tucked away behind the cellar.
Found a new artist to admire. Fell in love with a painting.
Wondered if I really needed savings.
Muratie was up next.
Inside the cellar, they are preserving the 100 year old cobwebs and their occupants. There’s even a sign to this effect.
Thanks to the cobwebs, I got the creepies and went to sit outside in the sun.
F1 has returned. Dave threw a party! I learnt to play Gran Turismo 5 WITH a steering wheel.
Napped. Called the top 3. ALL OF THEM.
Dave introduced our relationship to the new Token system.
Met up with Zac and Kelsey at the Bay Harbour Market.
Try Dr Juice. It’s on the far right of the food court. Under the big, yellow sign that says Dr Juice.
Then visit the girls bathroom (if you’re a girl). It’s covered in Hot Pink fur and has a high heel for a door handle.
Listened to Janie Bay and the Beard. Thought this was an amazing name for a band.
Took Dave to TWO markets in one weekend. This earns him a token.
Gardened (relocated dirt) for 3 hours. Realised how much I miss having a garden.
Upset the local wildlife (spiders) quite a lot. The local wildlife then tried to move indoors.
Found this with my Monday morning cup of tea. I’m pretty sure it growled.
Left the necessary warning signs for any visitors.

To the Stellies Slow Market
What I wore:
Denim Shorts: Tashkaya, Shirt: GAP
Pumps: Zara, Ring: Sass Diva
Scent: Chance by Chanel
Notes:
The shorts are a beautiful fit, versatile and really comfy. I also LOVE the buttons.
Check out more from Tashkaya here .
Last week I got to meet the beautiful designer, Natasha Teplitsky (who is very nice by the way). Natasha is the mind behind the eclectic Tashkaya range and was very kindly giving me a pair of shorts. They’ve made their appearance on Daily Dress Code and they’re stylish, very comfortable (very important to me) and the fit is perfect.
The Tashkaya label launched in 2009 and combines French, Spanish, Italian, Vintage and Boho styles. I love the classic looks, the clean cuts, the versatily and especially the gorgeous summer dresses.
Tashkaya was recently at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week up in Jozi Wood (yes I will get this name to stick), so check out her latest, 2012 winter collection. For now, here are some of my absolute favourites:
It’s as clear as crystal that Natasha is incredibly talented and destined for great things. So make sure you get your paws on a piece from her latest collection and then you can say that you were wearing Tashkaya before it hit New Tork Fashion Week and got beyond ridiculously famous. Because we all know Capetonians love to be Hipster like that.
The rockstars over at Colcacchio’s (home of the tastiest pizza – by the way, I’m not just saying this because they gave me a pizza.. I truly do believe this) dropped off a pizza to kick off their #priceslice campaign. It didn’t last long.. and if you’re coming to a meeting at Motribe today, good luck and god speed because there was A LOT of garlic!

The Pizza #PriceSlice is a celebration of a glorious thing called pizza. And basically the more you tweet about it, the more they discount their pizzas. Which lets face it, is pretty damn cool. And there’s this whole thermometer vibe going on over here. So if you love pizza (and who doesn’t?) make sure you check it out.
It runs from the 16-22 March, so if you’re craving pizza, get tweeting and don’t forget to mention @Colcacchio and #priceslice!

To work. It’s Formal Friday.
Dress: Zara, Pumps: Aldo
Scent: Chance by Chanel, Necklace and Clips: Accessorize
Only realised how creased the dress was AFTER taking the photo.
Took it off. Ironed it. I know…I can iron. Everyone calm down to a panic.
Throw a party, because the world (well Beverley Hills) finally has a cupcake ATM!
Sprinkles Cupcakes have installed a fully-automated 24-hour, cupcake ATM, outside their flagship store in Beverly Hills. The founder of Sprinkles Cupcakes, Candace Nelson came up with the idea when she was pregnant and had regular after-hours, cupcake cravings but couldn’t get them anywhere.
The machine offers loads of different flavours (there’s EVEN red velvet) and each withdrawal will set you back $4. I wonder if Charly’s Bakery is considering one. (Hint dropped).
The Sprinkles brand is one that I love and their approach to social media is nothing short of beautiful.
Check them out, because with only 11 stores across the US and 335,942 fans, they’re just doing it right. They’ve got ATM’s, Apps, in-store Secret Code activations and they even have custom cover photos that fans can use for their timelines.
Anyway. I think we can all stop trying now, because no invention will ever beat the Cupcake ATM. Unless of course someone invents an ATM that dispenses bacon and egg croissants.
