3 iPhone Games I Love
The App Store is a bit of an impersonal labyrinth, where I struggle to find decent and relevant apps. There’s a lot of nonsense in there. Plus it doesn’t allow you to integrate with other networks and see what your friends are using. Basically the App Store makes zero effort to integrate with your life and it makes you do all the work. [Oh modern day problems!]
Adding to this there’s no option to hide the completely irrelevant apps. I just have to mindlessly scroll… and scroll… and scroll. Do you know how many times I’ve scrolled past Sasol’s eBirding Book? Going for a steal at $30… Sasol who on earth were you getting advised by?
Basically I have no idea what is genuinely good and half the time, I’m just judging apps on their icons and screen grabs. I rely heavily on Word-of-Mouth or rather, Word-of-Tech-Crunch.
But, in saying (or rather whinging about) all of that, here are 3 quick and easy games that I’ve found on your behalf. They’re not very new, but they are pretty rad.
1. Dino Rush:
Eat the fruit to run faster, tap to jump and double tap to fly. Every step you take decreases your energy and each time you run into an object, your health will decrease. So try avoid walking, running, rocks, other dinosaurs and birds. Earn coins to buy new characters. And the dodo is pretty cute.
I am stuck on level 8.
I am hooked.
2. Dash Dash Pengy
This was probably one of the main reasons I wanted an iPhone. I know right, who knew a game could be so persuasive? But I love this game. And I used to beg, borrow, or steal ( um.. just kidding, I mean who does that?) iPhones just so that I could play it.
Eat the fish to boost your score. Slide and jump your way to more fish, increased speed and a happier Pengy. DO NOT run into things because you will DIE.
Because who in their right mind doesn’t love Snake?
This brings back memories of Nokia 3310′s, highschool and the mind-blowing phenomena that was the release of Snake 2. Let’s be honest, it really was mind-bending.
The buttons are a little dodge, or maybe I’m just not a great end user ( stupid nails), but it’s a great way to kill time while you’re waiting.
