This is the official trailer for The Hobbit. And I’m a proper Hobbit groupie (it’s all in my surname really), so you have no idea how excited I am.

Peter’s back in the directing chair and tons of the trilogy cast have returned. McKellan reprises his role as Gandalf, Andy Serkis is back as Gollum ( let’s be honest, no one else could ever hope to do this role justice) and even Stephen Fry makes an appearance.

You have no idea how much I love Gollum. Not only did that character really put CGI characters on the map ( it was a milestone), but Serkis just took that role to another level in the trilogy. I STILL think it’s a crime that his work couldn’t be recognized in the Best Supporting category at the Oscars. I mean he made Gollum.

You have official, full permission to be beyond ridiculously excited for next December.

Now if the world ends before the preview, I will seek out an authentic Mayan and bash him with a hammer.
